Obviously, every player's schedule will vary based on practices, matches, and other planned activities; however, it's important for athletes to go into each week with an organized view of how the days within the week will play themselves out.
TUESDAY - Wild Card Day
Do something different for 1 hour every Tuesday.
Post inspirational or goal-oriented content on your social media platforms.
Share Your Focus...
Whatever you have decided to focus on for inspiration and motivation this week, it's time to share it with your hopefully ever-growing fans/friends/family base for your brand-building. You can make any quote into a beautiful picture post with Canva.com and integrate your sharing settings so you only have to post once and it will spread to your Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr, Blog widgets, and anywhere and everywhere between.Think About...
Whatever you want. Be creative. Be interesting. See below. ;)Take Your Own Time...
Explore, walk, create, write, read, learn...any verb that is helping you be you, whether a newer and better version or a fresher and clearer version. Especially if you are a people-person who constantly needs social life, take just one hour to be alone and be comfortable with being exactly yourself on your own terms. This is NOT an excuse to binge watch television or movies or hang out on your electronic devices. In fact, do whatever it takes to avoid a screen for this time for yourself and be a human away from technology for a nice minute.Something Fun (7 ideas)...
Decorate for whatever holiday is next, have coffee with your favorite teammate, just be outside for an entire hour and enjoy your health/youth/freedom, write a funny poem or song and laugh at how bad it is - then feel brave enough to share, learn how to say "I am the best" in your new language, make up a fictional story about yourself in another foreign country, sing along loudly and dance to your favorite songs for ten minutes.Finish...
Any random or long-term projects you have left laying around: maybe a book, responding to emails, a blog post, etc. Use this day to really clean-up loose ends and tidy your brain space to be clear for what lies ahead.
As your day-to-day schedule become more routine, you can add more social media presence (i.e., sharing other pro player's match times/highlights, linking to your blog, etc.). The most important baselines for every day are getting enough of the right kind of sleep and eating properly. These actions take intentional planning and purpose. Too many times we have heard stories of athletes finishing practice after 9:00 PM and not having any food left to eat - and all the grocery stores and decent restaurants are closed!
