Vaux-Le-Vicomte

I was able to return to a deep, rich autumn in France, only more beautified by the magnificent Vaux le Vicomte. The chateau's original owner and creator, Nicholas Fouquet, suffered severe injustice under King Louis XIV - you can read more about the tragedy on Wikipedia. Ultimately, because Louis XIV was jealous of Fouquet's grand chateau, he eventually designed and built the Chateau de Versailles as a larger scale version of Vaux le Vicomte to show off the riches and power of the royal family.

But when I showed up, only traces of Fouquet's fall from grace remained on the placards inside the castle that told his story. The original glory of his home restored, Vaux le Vicomte continues to amaze its guests with the extensive gardens, ornate decor, and rolling grounds colored with the vibrancy of the season.

Bienvenue a Vaux le Vicomte.

J'espère que vous pouvez venir ici bientôt!
